A community health program series dedicated to people age 55+ who are looking to connect and learn with each other. Program sessions will cover topics including mental and physical health, exercise, nutrition, gardening, financial and digital literacy, art and photography, as well as fun, social engagement opportunities. The program starts Jul. 11th, 2024 running on Thursdays from 10:30 – 11:30 AM.
Below are brief descriptions of program sessions presently available:
September 5 – Mindfulness: Learn about mindfulness and how these practices can improve our health and well-being.
September 12 – Dance Together: How dance and movement can help us connect, improve our mood, and support healthy aging.
September 19 – Self-Care: Join us to learn about self-care and its benefits.
September 26 – Visual Art: Create visual art together and learn how it can help us express ourselves and build connection.

Struggling with shoulder pain or looking to prevent it? Join us on Thursdays from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Learn how the shoulders work, common injuries and how posture can impact your shoulders. Discuss strategies you can use to manage shoulder pain. Try shoulder strengthening and stretching exercises. Get tips on foods that provide sources of nutrients that build muscle and contribute to healthy joints.

Tai Chi involves slow, gentle movements, postures, meditation and controlled breathing. Drop-in on Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, you don’t need to pre-register. You’ll need to fill out forms when you attend for the first time. Improve strength, flexibility and balance. Relieve pain, enhance sleep and boost mood.
