Group Formats

In-Person groups

Meet at East End CHC 1619 Queen Street East (at Coxwell Ave). Registration is required as there is room capacity limit. Mask are now optional.

Hybrid groups

Meet virtually over zoom and in person at the Centre at the same time. Registration is required as there is room capacity limit for the in-person group.

Virtual groups

Meet on Zoom and requires access to an electronic device (computer, phone, or tablet) and a WIFI connection.

A community health program series dedicated to people age 55+ who are looking to connect and learn with each other. Program sessions will cover topics including mental and physical health, exercise, nutrition, gardening, financial and digital literacy, art and photography, as well as fun, social engagement opportunities. Join us Thursdays from 10:30 – 11:30 AM.

Below are brief descriptions of program sessions presently available:

January 2 – Smoothie Social:Ring in the new year with yummy smoothies created by a dietitian.
January 9 – Dance Together: Improve your mood and support health aging through movement.
January 16 – Improv: Think on your feet by understanding the power of “yes, and…”
January 23 – Visual Arts: Express yourself by creating a unique visual masterpiece.
January 30 – Digital Literacy 101: Learn the basics to digital literacy through one-on-one coaching.

February 6 – Dance Together: Improve your mood and support health aging through movement.
February 13 – Photography: Show the world your perspective through the power of photography.
February 20 – Digital Literacy & Fraud Prevention: Learn how to fight back against new and reoccurring digital frauds and scams by applying cyber security online.
February 27 – Financial Literacy: Develop and advance your financial security in making the most of how your money can work for you.

Tai Chi involves slow, gentle movements, postures, meditation and controlled breathing. Drop-in on Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, you don’t need to pre-register. You’ll need to fill out forms when you attend for the first time. Improve strength, flexibility and balance. Relieve pain, enhance sleep and boost mood.

Join us this January for a series of four informative sessions on Women’s Health. Thursdays from 1:00 – 3:00 PM (Jan.16 – Feb.6, 2025). We’ll cover topics on prepubertal, reproductive, perimenopausal, and senior’s health. Each session will focus on the body changes, vaccinations and screening protocols for each stage of women’s lives. Register for the series and attend one, some or all sessions. Led in Urdu/Hindi with presentation in English.
