Group Formats:

  • In-Person groups are held in-person at East End CHC 1619 Queen Street East (at Coxwell Ave). Registration is required as there is a capacity limit. Please wear a surgical mask and complete the COVID-19 screening questions every time you visit the centre. If you do not have a mask, we will give you one for free.
  • Hybrid groups are held virtually over zoom and in person at the centre at the same time. Registration is required as there is a capacity limit. No capacity limit for the virtual zoom group.
  • Virtual groups are held via Zoom and require access to an electronic device (computer, phone, or tablet) and a WIFI connection.

Art Café - (Hybrid Group) Join us on the last Wednesday of the month from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. In this ongoing group you can explore your emotions and express yourself with art. Back to Movement - (In-Person Group) Do you have back pain or are looking to prevent back pain? Join us on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm for 5-weeks (February 27th – March 30th, 2023). Brain Booster - (Hybrid Group) Your brain has an amazing ability to adapt and change, even into old age. Join us on this ongoing program, the first Thursday of the month from 1:00pm – 2:30pm to try out some fun brain-boosting activities. Gentle Fit - (In-Person and Virtual Group) Empower yourself to take action and get fit in this program designed for beginners. Tuesdays (virtual) from 3:15pm – 4:15pm. Wednesdays (in-person) from 10:30am – 11:30am at the centre. Learn the basics about fitness with a complete body workout, reduce pain in joints and risk of falls. Contact: Keiko at 416-778-5805 x237

Gentle Yoga - (In-Person Group) Accessible yoga for everyone, Tuesdays from 6:15pm – 7:15pm. In-Person for 4-weeks (February 7th - February 28th, 2023). Regular yoga practice helps to release stress, lower blood pressure, promote a good night’s sleep, increase mobility and flexibility of joints, improves balance and posture. Intuitive Eating  - (Virtual Group) Tired of yo-yo dieting and food rules? Join our dietitian on Wednesdays from 2:00pm – 3:30pm for 10-weeks (January 11th – March 22nd, 2023 * No session on March 15th, 2023). Break free from a diet mindset and develop a healthy relationship with yourself and food. Learn to eat in a balanced way and enjoy favorite foods without guilt. Transition from a self-control to a self-care mindset. Shoulder Self-Care - (In-Person Group) Struggling with shoulder pain or looking to prevent it? Join us on Mondays from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm for our 4-week (January 30th – February 27th, 2023 * No session on February 20th, 2023). Learn how the shoulders work, common injuries and how posture can impact your shoulders. Discuss strategies you can use to manage shoulder pain. Try shoulder strengthening and stretching exercises.
