Who We Serve

Cultural Inclusiveness

East End CHC recognizes that quality of care and patient safety are improved when health care providers can respond to language and cultural preferences and differences. This is one of the key reasons why the East End CHC is strongly committed to improving the capacity of health service providers to deliver culturally competent care.

The Francophone population living in East End Toronto has specific cultural and linguistic characteristics and challenges. To better serve this population, we are participating in Toronto Central LHIN training programs for providers that will support them to deliver culturally sensitive care to Francophone patients, caregivers and families.

In addition, Centre staff receive specific training in LGBTQ and Aboriginal cultural sensitivity, to better serve those populations.
